I’m David Miller, and I am the Republican running to represent you in the Kansas Senate. I am deeply concerned about our country and the well-being of our children and grandchildren.

Many have asked why I would run in a district that has, historically, been so hostile toward Republicans. The answer is that I bring experience and skills to the table, acquired over a lifetime of service in business, civic involvement, politics, and government. I believe I am equipped to help resolve some of the thorniest issues facing our state. And while Douglas County may be deeply blue, Kansas remains a crimson red state, meaning that, more often than not, as critical decisions are made in Topeka that impact us all, our voices are ignored and our interests minimized.

I believe a little honest introspection by Lawrence voters will help mitigate this problem. The truth is, the Democrat elite runs everything in this city, county, and district. There is no check on their power and virtually no accountability to us, their constituents.

We simply must push back. The only effective way to do that is by electing candidates who will serve as a check on their power. I am that kind of candidate.
